Here are some common questions we receive about renting our venue. If you need more information, feel free to contact us directly.
Is this particular date available?
You can look at the Google calendar above to see if your date is still available. If your date is available, please submit this form to receive a draft Users Agreement with approximate fees & fully refundable deposit
What is the price for rental and for how many hours?
Fees slightly vary depending on the number of guests, partial or full use of kitchen, labor required to set/strike/clean/waste manage and is detailed in the Users Agreement.
Can we use the SAHR kitchen?
Partial and full use of SAHR kitchen is allowed for an additional fee. You will need to bring your own ice. There are no working ice machines in SAHR.
What time do we have to end the celebration?
Music must stop by 10PM. The celebration must end by 11PM. The start & end time of your celebration is covered in the contract.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
Yes, bringing your own alcohol is permitted. Beer bottles are prohibited. Cans are allowed, guest must empty & put cans in the blue recycling bin. Broken glass or poor recycling will cause reduction to damage deposit.
If you will sell alcohol, you must procure a liquor license.
How can I confirm my reservation date?
After you check the Google calendar & submit the form, you will have 1 st rights of refusal to this date in the event another family asks for the same date.
Your reservation is confirmed upon signing the contract & paying a deposit within 2 days of contract signing. The balance is due 30 days before the event. We also offer monthly payment plans for your convenience. Should another party request the same date, you will be informed that your reservation will be non-refundable & give you the option to cancel within 48 hours with full refund. This is covered in the contract.
Can we rehearse the night before?
Free of charge, you can rehearse the day of your celebration starting 8am.
If you wish to hold a rehearsal the day before, access is subject to availability, and until 6:50pm. An additional fee for 2 hours applies.
When can we start decorating?
Free of charge, you can start decorating the day of your celebration starting 8am.
If you wish to decorate or hold a rehearsal the day before, access is subject to availability, meaning no other group will be meeting in the hall and until 6:50pm only. If you are working with a party planner who needs additional time, we will aim to accommodate your party planner for an additional hourly fee to be paid by the party planner and added to the Users Agreement. Guest must inform SAHR team if oversized vehicles will be parking and the times of arrival & departure. Failure to inform SAHR may result in no access to the 14 th Avenue parking lot.
Are we required to hire security?
SAHR does not require security.
Guests are required to provide and maintain comprehensive liability insurance that costs $130 (April 2025) and give a fully refundable damage deposit of $1000. This is covered in the contract.
Guests are encouraged to hire a doorman to ensure compliance of San Francisco noise ordinance & SAHR no loitering & no beverages outside of SAHR.
What amenities are included with the hall rental?
SAHR rentals include tables [10 foot round tables, 6 foot rectangular, 8 foot rectangular] & chairs.
SAHR team will set the tables. Guest need to request chairs, to be left stacks of 10 chairs for guests to place around tables.
Large 8 stall ladies restroom, wet bar, big stage & dance floor. NO ICE MACHINE.
Complimentary Parking, opened 30 minutes before guests arrive.
4 hours set up time, same day of celebration.
How can I pay the deposit and balance?
